How to remove and delete Google application from your Google API Manager - The Easy Way

Have you ever said to yourself, I want to remove and delete that application and start from scratch at the dashboard of the Google API Manager. Well here is a simple way to remove a Google Application from the Google API Manager Dashboard. Simply add your projects name to the end of this URL:

https://console.developers.google.com/iam-admin/settings/project?project=YOURPROJECTID

Simply copy the above URL and replace YOURPROJECTID with the google project id which you can get from going to this URL, if you are logged into the account : https://console.developers.google.com/apis/ that will take you right to your dashboard and auto redirect you to your project if you only have the one, if tht is the case just grab the project id which will be at the end of this url like such: https://console.developers.google.com/apis/library?project=YOURPROJECTID . If you have more then one project you can grab the Google project id via https://console.developers.google.com/apis/ and it will take you to your recet project, if that is your project, the ID will be at the end of the URL, if not select your project from the drop down list in the upper left hand corner and once selected your project id will be at the end of the URL. Then to delete your project from the Google API Manager replace YOURPROJECTID with your google project id: https://console.developers.google.com/iam-admin/settings/project?project=YOURPROJECTID

How to still get Windows 10 for Free After July 29th. Get Window 10 for Free

Here are two ways to Get the Windows 10 Upgrade for free now after July 29th. All links have been verified and used as of 10/20/2016.

First just want to let you know. I started advertising with AdF.ly so when you click a link it may show you an advertisement, they are virus and malware free, if you decide to download and install any of their offerings or you can just click skip the ad as it will take you to the link. Any issues please let me know.

OK, as some of you know Microsoft was giving away Windows 10 for free to users who had Windows 7 +. Well for those of you who waited or did not grab the ISO waiting on a service pack 1, don;'t worry, there are still ways to get get Windows 10 for Free. Yes I said it, you can still get Windows 10 for free after July 29th 2016. Here are a few ways that I have found to upgrade your version of Windows 7, 8, 8.1:

#1 Become a Windows Insider.which you can do here: Become a Windows Insider if you are not one you can choose how fast you receive updates, slow track or fast track, this also works for Windows Phone and Windows devices. Only downside to this, it would be considered beta and some do not like running that.  Once you are an insider you can download Windows 10 if you are running windows 7+, or even Windows 10. You can then use the Windows 10 RefreshWindowsTool. This will remove all the bloat and do a fresh install of Windows 10 from the Anniversary build, You can download the fresh image from here:Windows 10 Refresh Tool Images Then remove yourself from the insider program and you then switch to slow updates and it will be as if you have retail. If you cannot find this tool email me or send a comment and I can send it to you.

Here is also a good article on how to use the Refresh Windows Tool: Learn about how the Windows 10 Refresh Tool Image Works

#2 is Microsoft has still made Windows 10 available for those with accessibility, which you can get here:

Windows 10 upgrade for assistive technology users

The direct download link at this time is : Windows10Upgrade24074.exe

At this time this means if you use narrator or any accessibility device or software you can easily upgrade or even later when they no longer have the download available per their FAQs, so if you need the file and it is no longer up, message me. Microsoft really has no way to verify this, so I am not sure how long this will will be made available. Plus at some time or another some have used narrator of magnifier glass or zoom in.

I have seen a few others posted out there, but these I have used on a few of my own machines without any issues. There is a one reporting if you change the time you can trick the Microsoft server into serving you the old page etc... I did try this and it was nothing but a nightmare and didn't work for me, and and tried this today 9/4.

Anyway, hope this helps some one save some time and enjoy Windows 10.

Solution for Error Mounting drive the NTFS partition is in an unsafe state in Linux

I am currently dual booting between Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux 14.04.

Everything was fine until today, I booted into Windows 10 and it ran some updates. I then rebooted into Linux and could no longer access my non Linux partitions.

I then started to get the error Unable to access "DRIVE NAME" Error mounting /dev/sda# as /location. Windows is hibernated, refused to mount. Failed to mount '/dev/sda#/' Operation not permitted The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown Windows fully(no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the volume read only with the 'ro' mount option.

Well I could have just mounted the drive read only and copied everything off of the partition, reformat and then start all over, but considering I did nothing to cause this error and it may happen again I needed a quick fix for this issue now and in the future. So after some research and tinkering around I found that I could fix this error using ntfsfix

So at the terminal I typed sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda9 and saw the following:

Mounting volume... The disk contains an unclean file system (0, 0).
Metadata kept in Windows cache, refused to mount. FAILED
Attempting to correct errors...
 Processing $MFT and $MFTMirr...
Reading $MFT... OK
Reading $MFTMirr... OK
Comparing $MFTMirr to $MFT... OK
Processing of $MFT and $MFTMirr completed successfully.
Setting required flags on partition... OK
Going to empty the journal ($LogFile)... OK
Checking the alternate boot sector... OK
NTFS volume version is 3.1.

Once it ran, I could now mount the drive and read it no problem.

Hope this saves someone else some time.

How to Install Oracle VM Virtual Box In Ubuntu Linux

Well as I am finding the Ubuntu Software center seems like such a great idea, it is rarely updated and well, still needs some work.

GO here:

https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads

I have a 64-bit installation and machine with VM enabled in the bios so I choose this installation:

http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/5.0.18/virtualbox-5.0_5.0.18-106667~Ubuntu~trusty_amd64.deb

After the download, open it with the software center.

If the Ubuntu Software center says you need to update the package for any reason do this first then do the installation.

Once the installation is complete, you should be able to confirm by simply clicking the Windows Key or if you are running Unity , you should see the "Oracle VM Virtualbox" . Once you click on that icon it should open the Oracle VM Virtualbox Manager without any issue and allow you to play with your Virtual box VMs/ Here are a couple of websites that have some prebuilt Virtual Boxes for you to play with, the first one brags of having over 240,000 prebuilt Virtual Box Images. Enjoy...

https://virtualboximages.com/

If you have any issues please let me know and I wkll gladly see if I can give oyu a hand...

Windows Phone Emulator hanging at Windows Phone OS is Starting ... using Visual Studio , Windows 8.1, and Hyper-V

I recently setup a Windows Phone 8.1 Project in Visual Studio. I started the debugger and the Windows phone emulator came up. After it said loading it then changed to Windows Phone OS is Starting... It then seemed to sit there for a while.

Before you do anything, please note that if this is the first time running the Windows Phone Emulator, and it has never fully loaded, it can take some time, You might have to wait for it to finish loading , which took me 5 Minutes and 35 Seconds the first load. The next time you debug it, it will only take about 16 seconds. As you can see the first time it runs it takes a long long time, this must be due to creating and configuring Hyper-V and the Image for the Windows Phone Emulater. Please note I do have a very fast newer machine, even then it still took over 5 minutes. So I would run it for at least 10 -15 minutes, if your emulater still does not get past the OS loading, then I would try the following steps:

Here is how I finally got the Windows Phone emulator running in Windows 8.1 using Visual Studio 2013:

I ran XdeCleanup.exe as Administrator. This was located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft XDE\8.1 and C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft XDE\8.0 on my machine. I did run both.

I then went into the Hyper-V Manager and deleted the virtual machine for the Windows Phone, if it is still showing:

I then opened up Visual Studio and noticed that I still had the same issue. I then went into Program and Features and clicked on Windows Phone 8.1 Emulators, then clicked Change. Once I clicked change, I  got the following error: Windows Phone 8.1 Emulators - ENU has stopped working.

Now I decided to try and reinstall the Windows Phone 8.1 Emulators, which I found at the location https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44574 , yet when I downloaded the installer and then cliecked INSTALL, nothing happened. I rebooted and the same issue.

I then decided to try and install the update, which I had not had installed, but came across it on the site, the Windows Phone 8.1 Update and Emulators installer is located here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=43719

Now that I had this installed I rebooted again and ran my project in Visual Studio 2013, running Visual Studio as Administrator. It got to Windows Phone OS is Starting and I walked away from the PC for a few minutes. When I came back I noticed that it had loaded, it took over 5 minutes to load for the first time:

To sum it up, even though I went through all these steps, it turns out, if you have never run the Windows Phone Emulator before and you create a Windows Phone project in Visual Studio and run the debugger, it will create the Virtual Machine and whatever goes along with it. So the first load can take a long time, over 5 minutes. Please let me know how it works out for you.
